Arpeggio/Chord Builder allows the user to custom build all possible forms of a particular chord or chord arpeggio with Guitar Mentor in any area of the fingerboard. A chord arpeggio can be effectively used to enrich solos when played in a sequential manner. To use the Guitar Mentor Arpeggio/Chord Builder feature, proceed as follows:

1. Click on the Arp/Chord Builder button, or select Arpeggio/Chord Builder from the Options menu.
2. Click on the desired Chord Suffix in the CHORD SUFFIX list box.
3. Click on the desired Chord Prefix in the CHORD PREFIX list box.

The complete arpeggio for the selected chord will now appear within the main fingerboard display area. This is a valuable starting point in Chord Builder because the arpeggio can be used as another source of soloing options!

Now we will precision build a "G add 9" solid chord from the arpeggio. Observe that the notes that make up the chosen chord are displayed beside the chord's name. In this example you will see "G add 9 = G B D A." Simply refer to the note letters of the chord as you click on matching notes inside the main fingerboard display. The selected notes will turn red to define your selection from the total arpeggio. Two possible G add 9 chords are shown in red.
